I was wondering if anyone has come across a JIRA plugin / extension that allows you to send notifications via XMPP instead of / in addition to normal email notifications?
If not, don’'t suppose anyone is interested in creating one for the greater good?

as JIRA is a bought product one may not find such a plugin. Anyhow I don’'t see a problem for you to use a mail XMPP component which receives emails and forwards them (depending on sender / topic / !spam) as an IM to you.

I actually created one about a year ago, but we quickly disabled it in the office. It was too discruptive for everyone
