This isn’t really a concern, as everything seems to work just fine either way.
But when I log into the Admin Console on Openfire 5.1.2, and go to the Sessions Tab to see how many users are signed in, I notice that a few of them do not show which Client Version they are using. Again, everything works, and everyone on our network is using Spark 3.0.2. I am just curious as to what could be keeping either the client from reporting it’s version, or if it is a server side thing.
It doesn’t seem to hurt anything. I’ve even considered just hiding that column so it doesn’t catch my attention.. lol
A connecting client is not required to report software information to the server, so Openfire is only showing those that support that reporting.
Thank you. I was just curious. Everyone uses Spark 3.0.2 and that’s why I was wonder why some didn’t report their version number.
That is curious. I’d expect either all of them or none of them to show the same information. Are you using clustering (I’m wondering if the information is only shown for clients connected to one cluster node)?
No clustering. Just a basic VPS running Debian 12 and Openfire 5.1.2. I installed the Client Control plugin, inVerse(for those that want to chat but aren’t at their work station, but has never been used), Registration and Monitoring Service. Java 21.0.11
Nothing special.. lol
