I’'ve just installed an OpenFire 3.3.2 for my office. I have it
configured to pull information out of active directory. It’'s convenient
having all the internal phone numbers displayed there, but I’'d like to
restrict them to my local office users. Is there a way to disallow
other server’'s users from seeing profiles?
What type of other servers are you referring to? For security I do not allow server to server communication except internally. I also do not allow self registering of accounts, only AD. External communications is restricted to installed gateways (AOL, MSN, Yahoo) which do not relay AD info.
I’'m trying to limit it to other jabber servers. My current work around is to not allow server to server communication. But it seems like it would be nice to enable that. Thus, my interest in limiting the profile view.
