We are running Openfire 3.6.4 and openfire-service.exe is taking about 100MB of RAM. This might be normal but its a problem for our already overloaded server so Im on a quest to limit ram usage of the applications running. And by problem I mean daily server crashes.Is there a way to set maximum ram usage?
How many users do you have and what amount of memory do you want to assign to Openfire? It’s Java and it requires a lot of memory. You will face errors and crashes if you’ll cut memory too much. Check this doc about the jvm settings http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1033
