Message listener package check

Hi,

can someone confirm for me that IncomingChatMessageListener from package
org.jivesoftware.smack.chat2 is the right one to use to listen for incoming messages?

All of the posts I can find here and elsewhere, look to be using depreciated functions to do this

It is one way to listen for incoming messages. Whether or not if it is the right one depends on what you want to do. But in general, it is a good starting point.

thanks for getting back to me, I can see the intended use for the from and message variables,
however I can’t work out what the chat variable is being used for in this function
