I´d like to know how to migrate my server from a machine to another.
I´m running it under windows.
If you are running openfire on the same OS (windows of some flavor) on the new computer:
- Stop the openfire server on the current box
- Copy the entire Openfire directory from the program files folder to transfer media (CD, Flash drive, etc)
- Install the same version of Openfire on the new computer (do not start it)
- Copy backup of Openfire from old computer to this computer replacing entire directory
Bear in mind this only works if the coputers/openfire server are going to have the same DNS name.
what about the database?
