Mule (using SMACK 3.1.0) can't do PLAIN TLS auth to latest ejabberd

Does anyone have an ETA on a new stable version of SMACK?

Mule ships 3.1.0 at it doesn’t like talking TLS PLAIN to our ejabberd server.
