rzha029 is the hostname.
I don’'t have any other clients to test.

In the Miranda IM Options dialog under Network → Jabber → Expert have you specified that the User directory is set to “search.rzha029.foo.de”?
Thanks,
Ryan
Your answer implies, the value could be wrong.
What is the option about - if not the hostname? What value do I have to put in there?

Not wrong, just incomplete.
Since Miranda does not discover the search plugins’’ address you have to explicity tell it what it is, by default the plugin registers its address as “search.” + serverName. So, using your example above, it would be “search.rzha029.foo.de”.
Hope that helps,
Ryan
Ok, I changed that and it works - partly …
I can search for firstnames and get the disired results.
But get no results for JIDs oder lastnames.
The server uses inetOrgPerson (among others) for peoples’’ entries.
Here is an example ldapsearch
ldapsearch -x -h rzhs099 sn=papel
Stephan Papel, foo, bar, de
dn: CN=Stephan Papel,OU=foo,O=bar,C=de
…
objectclass: dominoPerson
objectclass: inetOrgPerson
objectclass: organizationalPerson
objectclass: person
objectclass: top
givenname: Stephan
sn: Papel
cn: Stephan Papel
uid: SPapel
