Network traffic speeds

I’‘d like to see the amount of bytes per second JiveMessenger is receiving and sending, preferably updated every (couple of) second(s). I’‘m guessing it’'s easier to do this in the OS (Ubuntu in my case) itself, rather than in JM. Does anyone know how?

Try using iptraf

It will give you inbound and outbound server traffic
