New Install Server Erro 500 on LDAP configuration

Hello. I’m setting up OpenFire on a fresh Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS install. I got to the Profile Settings page, where I can select LDAP. When I click next, I get a Server 500 error. I’ll paste the full error message below. I’ve tried with OpenJDK-9-JRE and OpenJDK-8-JRE, different database settings, but I get the same error. It doesn’t give me any options, just immediately gives and error page. Please help.

Hmm, I can’t reproduce that on Ubuntu (17.10), using Oracle’s 1.8.0_111. As I’ve not heard about this before, I’m tempted to believe that your Openfire instance is corrupt somehow (or possibly cannot read some of its files - a weird file permission issue perhaps)? Is this a new installation, or did you upgrade over an older one? What version of Openfire did you use? Have you tried downloading / extracting Openfire from scratch again?

This is new virtual machine with a new install of Openfire 4.2.2. Just set up today. I had a suspicion that I might need to start from scratch. Depending on whether I get other suggestions, i’ll go that route.

I’d try that. If everything else fails, maybe you can share the VM? Either give me remote access, or, if it’s a VirtualBox kind of deal, send me the OVF?
