Are you going to implement nicknames autoretrieving? Users hate to see numeric UINs in the contact list. And they don’t like to see UIN, when someone tries to add them to the contact list. In that moment window with ‘user 1234@icq.domain.net want to add you’ appears and there is no way to understand who is 1234.
These are really reasons users don’t use ICQ gateway. They want nicknames and user info (vcard?) support, groups, presence (with invisible mode and nothing else.
Avatars and other don’t matter. And again, lack of nicknames support is the worst thing they claim about
So, how can i help you to implement this? As far as i remember, we’ve already discussed this feature, there were some difficulties. Could you remind me what are the problems?
