Not able to add buddies

Hello,

I’m using Openfire on a LAN. My problem is that the users are not able to add buddies. After adding a buddy, a message of “Not Authorized” is coming just below the buddy name. Also there is no request coming to the another buddy if someone has added him/her. Please help me!

Greetings,

Are you adding their Jabber ID and not just their username? For instance, you need to add username@xmpp.domain for it to work. Also, if you are on a LAN, are you using a FQDN for your xmpp domainname? username@IPaddress won’t work
