When i try to add a gateway contact, they end up in a pending state but the user never receives a subscription request. I tried this with yahoo and msn. I also tried to add my gateway account to another msn account using the latest msn client but my jabber client never received a subscription notice. I tried using spark and pandion and also with the subscription plugin enabled and disabled.
Snowman, I’m seeing the same subscription issue with Yahoo. Try to add a new friend, and they are pending in the roster but the request never makes it. When I look at my debug log, the subscription packets are received by the openfire server, but don’t seem to make it out to yahoo (or back).
