Odd behavior when destroying a group

I have a new wildfire server set up at work for internal use that is running 2.6.2. It’‘s using LDAP for authentication and user lists. I have placed a couple of batches of these users into groups. There are probably 30 or 40 more people who are not in any group. I also automatically put these groups in everyone’'s roster.

So here’'s where the weirdness comes in.

I create group A. I set group A to be in everyones roster. I then delete group A. At this point, all clients connected are now flooded with … well I haven’‘t checked to see the exact packet. I’‘ll have to get that info the next time I’‘m in the office (next week, out of town the rest of this week), if you need that information. But basically, lets take ichat as an example. All of a sudden after the group is deleted a Buddies group is created and it’‘s filled with every last user who is NOT in a group. Each and every one is labeled indicating that I am not authorized to see that person’‘s presence. If I log out and back in, the buddies group is still there. If I go into the Cache Manager and clear all caches, and then log out and back in, the buddies group is again gone and all is back to normal. Note that the Buddies group, I believe, is iChat’'s way of indicating that the person is in no group.

Anyway, definitely odd. It seems fairly easy to duplicate. If you need more information I can provide that later though.

Hi,

I did post a very similar description here: http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/thread.jspa?threadID=19647

Gato is interested in more information, I didn’'t have the time to look at it.
