Openfire 3.4.0b1 connection issues (bug?)

Our users are having difficulty connecting to our Openfire server using Pidgin. Anyone else seeing the same?

This seems to be affecting a few users, who can all login using Spark, but their client config (which was working prior to the upgrade) nolonger works.

Pidgin logs the following:

(09:38:40) jabber: Sending (ssl): <auth xmlns=‘urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl’ xmlns:ga=‘http://www.google.com/talk/protocol/auth’ ga:client-uses-full-bind-result=‘true’ mechanism=‘PLAIN’>encryptedpasswordhere==</auth>

(09:38:40) jabber: Recv (ssl)(65): <challenge xmlns=“urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl”>=</challenge>

then just hangs, and eventually times out…

Pidgin SSL support went south some time ago.

Hey DeeJay,

Thanks for the bug report. I was able to get to the bottom of this problem and it’s an Openfire issue. I filed it as JM-1145 and checked in a fix that will be available for the next Openfire release.

Regards,
