Openfire 3.8.0 has been released!

I did the upgrade and now the contact list is empty… any reasons?

I still have access to the domain.

I can add users if I search for them.

I CANNOT see any users in the Unfiled contact list. That should be populated with all users in the domain.

Hello w14219,

I’m sorry to hear that you are running into problems. Are you, by any chance, using an LDAP backed (or otherwise ‘read-only’) user provider? If so, then please be aware that an important issue was raised, that might affect Openfire 3.8.0 instances that are backed by an LDAP (or otherwise ‘read-only’) user store. More details on this potential issue can be found in OF-610.

A preliminary fix for the issue was implemented, and is available for testing in the nightly builds, starting from the ones generated on February 7th.

Updated the thread with plugin incorporating fix:

is there no tag for this release in SVN?

Well, this is embarrassing. I apparently forgot to create it. I did so now (based on the revision that was the release): http://svn.igniterealtime.org/svn/repos/openfire/tags/openfire_3_8_0/

Every now and then, I check in for one particular update in Openfire. Improved SSO for Spark. And I am turning grey.

I don’t think Openfire has something to do with SSO in Spark.

Neon you should be able to handle SSO using Kerberos. It’s a bit tricky to setup but pretty sure when I tested it, it worked (not an Openfire issue).

Thanks Leon. Will check it out and let you know if any success
