I am currently looking into using Openfire as the collaboration package for my company of 400 employees. Everything was a breeze to configure until I came to the Active Directory / LDAP coniguration.
Authentication is fine, but I have a problem when it comes to searching for users. We are using the Spark client. Using the built in search plugin, I could only search using the username, regardless of what fields i entered in the ldap.searchFields currently: - Username/sAMAccountName,Name/cn,Surname/sn,Email/mail
I replaced the search plugin with the ldapsearch.jar plugin as recommended on here, but I cannot change the search fields - there is only username, Name and email. I need surname too. For some reason I cannot customise the fields for this plugin.
Anyway, unless I manage to solve this search issue I may be forced to scrap the whole openfire project, so I hope someone on here may be able to help.
