I was wondering if there was any support to allow OpenFire to authenticate with ASP.NET membership. I have a large member base in ASP.NET membership and would like to allow users to login to their IM accounts using their existing ASP.NET membership accounts. If a feature doesn’t exist for ASP.NET membership authentication, how difficult would it be to write a plugin to achieve this? I’m familiar with how ASP.NET membership works on the database backend, but I don’t know how OpenFire registers users in the system. Thanks much for your support.
