Openfire authentication using web service

Hi all,

Our organization needs to have the Openfire solution immediately.

Unfortunately, we are still in the midst of adopting LDAP so a separate Openfire authentication is being challenged by most people.

The only identity that we have now is the Mail Server (MDaemon) which has been been used by close to 1500+ users.

I am able to create a separate web service for MDaemon using its API to answer “Yes” or “No” during Openfire authentication.

  1. Is this a good approach? or any other suggestion?

  2. If not, which way should I further investigate?

  3. If yes, how should I go about it? I only LDAP and Database integration but not Web Service.
