Openfire change keystore password

Hello, I’ve been searching a solution for hours, but I didn’t found an answer, so here I am.

I changed the Openfire keystore password by issuing the following command line:

keytool -storepasswd -keystore keystore

It works ok, and I can list the entries with the new password, using the -list option from command line.

Now, when I restart the Openfire service, it can’t access the keystore, throwing the following error on the logs: “Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect”.

This wasn’t a surprise, since I’ve never updated the password on the Openfire configuration. However I don’t know where it is! I’ve searched a lot for this, but I can’t find it. If I roll back to the “changeit” default password, Openfire starts working again.

In summary, my question is where in the Openfire configuration I have to put the new keystore password.

Thanks in advance.

f’ this ssl functionality in openfire. It’s causing more grief than I care to remember. Just download a fresh copy of installation files and overwrite old files in /opt/openfire/resources/security

Update the 3 files clientstore.truststore, keystore and clientstore.

According to ttps://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/ssl-guid e.html you should change the password in the Admin Console. I guess it is stored (encrypted) in the database.
