Openfire doesn't work

Hi 2 all

First of all I would to say that I’m completely noob

Ok, installed clean debian v7, and trying now to install openfire.

When I’m starting service this line appers:

best java alternative in: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk-amd64/jre

And admin panel that are on 9090 does’t work.

What should I do?

I literally have the same issue as @Elman’s…

I have Ubuntu 14.10.

Here is command & output:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/openfire start

best java alternative in: /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-i386/jre

Starting openfire: openfire.

Please help me out as I have stuck in this since 2 days

I have hunted all through the internet, but the solutions mentioned are all tried, but all in vain

Thank you.

@Rahul I solved this issue by installing Oracle JDK manually on my Debian 7 regarding this manual: blog.mbentley.net » installing oracle java 7 jre/jdk on debian wheezy and everything works well now.

Also don’t forget to open specified ports with IPtables firewall.
