OpenFire Integration with Global Address List

I’m reseraching an IM solution for my company and am trying to find out if OpenFire has integration with Active Directory so users would be able pull from the Global Address List for contacts. Can anyone give any information on this?

I’m also looking for a good non-commercial IM client. Let me know if you have suggestions on a simple one.

Openfire can pull users from LDAP.

Recently i have found Instabird and i like that client. Really simple and slick. Well, i still use Spark personally as it has more convenient features for me. But it also uses a lot more memory.
