Openfire needs an update for new yahoo authentication methods

Hi,

I was using openfire , pidgin and yahoo transport sucessfully just one month before. But now due to some unknown reason i am unable to login to yahoo transport naymore from pidgin but interetingly openfire is showing that yahoo transport is online. The same peoblme also happens with the other XMPP clients.

But openfire and pidgin is working fine with other transports like Gtalk and MSN.

I came to know that yahoo has suddenly changed its authentication mechanism and for that openfire needs and update to support it.

Is that true? i am following this link http://theflamingbanker.blogspot.com/2009/06/some-clarification-on-yahoo-issues. html

Does yahoo auth mechanism changed and due to that openfire is not working with yahoo transport?

Regards,

First of all, quit spamming forums with the same question. Usually it’s is enough to ask in one Support sub-forum.

Second. Look above the forums and be sure to read Announcements. One of them is:

Announcement: IM Gateway No Longer Supported!! Do Not Use It!!

The IM Gateway is no longer supported and should not be used. It has been superseded by the Kraken Plugin (http://kraken.blathersource.org/). If you continue to use the old IM Gateway plugin you will have connection issues with some or all external gateways. There is no fix for this other than deleting this plugin and installing Kraken.

So. Upgrade to Kraken and if you still have problems with Yahoo, then ask in Kraken forums.
