Finally a feature is added to Smack that we all waited for.
With the XEP-0239 Binary XMPP Specification speed and efficiency should be greatly improved when transmitting XMPP data.
The patch implements the full XEP-0239 specification with the exception of internationalization.
Sadly there is no XMPP server implementation supporting this feature at the moment. But now a client implementation is available there should be enough motivation in some of the XMPP server project like Openfire or ejabberd to implement the specification too.
The patch comes with some test cases that don’t require an XMPP server to verify that the implementation works.
