Permissable Usernames and Passwords

I’'ve noticed that (when using Wildfire with LDAP) the username and passwords that are allowed are less than those supported by Active Directory.

For example, usernames containing a ‘’-’’ cannot be used, nor can passwords containing ‘‘£’’ and ‘’#’’.

Is this behavior expected and documented. I’'d really appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of a document which explains what is currently allowed so I can provide users with an explanation of what will and will not work (or even better, future support for all Windows and Passwords!)

Darren.

Hi Darren,

JM-830 describes a similar problem for usernames, so it’'s a more or less known bug. I just added the characters you did mention to this issue. It should be resolved in 23 days with Wildfire 3.2.0 but I expect that the release will be delayed and a few features will be rescheduled for Wildfire 3.2.x.
