Problem installing Openfire on MS Server 2008

Hi,

I’ve been trying to get the openfire 3.7.1 installed on my Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 32bit.

If I install using the external SQL server option or the internal database option, at the very end when I click save and conitnue. I get the following:

HTTP ERROR 500

Any ideas?

Can you resolve the choosen “xmpp.domain” locally on your server? It may help to add it to the hosts file.

My chosen domain (I’m guessing you mean the first thing I’m prompted for), is hfc-fl.com and I’m on a domain controller for that domain, so it should be resolvable.

I turned off UAC and got it to work just fine. I bet if you run the openfire server as admin that would work too, but not sure. Just turn off User Account Control, then turn it back on when done.

Beautiful! That did it. I just ran the openfire server as admin and it worked. No need to mess with changing the UAC settings.

Try another browser to setup Openfire. It looks like your session information is broken.
