After negotiating for a long time, I’m managing to update openfire (version by version) and I just upgraded from version 4.0.4 to 4.1.0.
After the last update I’m facing some issues like:
- users are not displayed in spark.
- log files are attached, they contain so me errors that I couldn’t interpret very well, could you help me?

Should I configure DNS internally on my local domain, or externally on the internet domain?

I am not sure if you will find anyone here that can help you with debugging an Openfire 4.1.0 issue. It is simply to old.
If you have proper backups, my advice would be to not upgrade incrementally, but go to the latest release immediately.
One of the errors that is being logged is related to the packetfilter plugin. You could try to remove that plugin.
