I created a number of users and I would only like form them to be able to chat with one group in particular and not see the other groups that are available in spark.
This is actually a question about your server software. Spark doesn’t have controls for this. In case of Openfire you can try Packet Filter plugin and block iq, presence and message packets between groups.
