Register for a conference?

[SPARK-1103] Add an option to register with conference room - IgniteRealtime JIRA

I am trying to ‘register’ with a conference, so I don’t have to be in it to get messages constantly, as well as my team members who may forget to join a group chat, and according to this issue, it was fixed in 2.6.0, but I can’t find documentation as to what that means.

Is there a way to register for conference notifications to pop up an IM window or not?

No, registering means that you register your username with a desired nickname as a member of that room. It is needed when room is register-only and so nobody else would take your nickname. There is no option in XMPP as a technology to do what you want. You must be in a room to get messages.
