I want to register users through a web interface, I know I can disable public registration in the Admin console, but how can I register these new users from my web application? is there any API?

With the registration plugin (http://www.jivesoftware.org/wildfire/plugins.jsp) you will have the possibility to enable a web-based registration. Or you can use the import/export module to create your users using an xml file.
