RPM Compatability with 64 Bit Redhat Enterprise (CentOS), X86_64 vs i386.
Does anyone have experience with the the “openfire-3.5.1-1.i386.rpm” or another version of this RPM being installed on a X86_64 (AMD64) platform? I realize the DEB package applies to ALL distro platforms, but I am using a RedHat Enterprise Edition x86_64 NOT the i386. Given this is JAVA based software, will I have issues installing the i386 version into a X86_64 platform.
When making an installation, the system will require RPM to force an override for the package to install.
Any feedback or experience with this senario would be appreciated.
