Living as I do in a Fedora/RedHat/CentOS shop, I like the RPM installer quite a bit. However, we can get Sun’s JDK direct from RedHat’s Enterprise channel, and OpenJDK just might (maybe) obviate its need one of these days.
Given the availability of getting JDK updates from upstream providers, I’d very much like to see a JDK-less RPM.
Any chance of that happening?
