Search a user and add him to contact

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible for user using an IM client to search for another or a particular user by username and then send a friend request to that user. Once the other user accepts that request, they both can start chatting.

Can anybody tell me how to configure the server to allow that or would you please share some online resources about that topic ?

There is no additional configuration for this, it should be able to let do this by default (Search plugin is installed by default).

So true… I just found out that some client have that feature to search other users… The “search” plugin must be installed on the remote server…
