I’m relatively new to Openfire.
Recently upgraded to Openfire 3.6.4, which included Search plugin v1.4.3. Using Spark v2.5.8 and cannot search. When do a search, get the “Unable to contact search service” error.
In reviewing prior discussions, tried going back to Search plugin v1.4.0, but no joy. Did the backrev as follows:
stop openfire
delete search.jar and search folders from the plugins directory
copy older search.jar into the plugins directory
start openfire
plugin auto loads and creates the search directory under plugins
Appears to be a problem at the server end as the Openfire admin console shows the plugin loaded, but does not have a “Search Service Properites” sidebar item located under the “Server” tab as it should per the documentation.
Has anyone else run into this?
