Spark 2.0.2 and talk.google.com (I failed to get it work)

Does any body managed to work with Spark 2.0.2 on talk.google.com server?

I failed to get it work while Spark 1.x worked fine.

Yes, that stopped to work, though i dont know when exactly.

Could you try to connect with 1.x version and check if it works? If it does then i think something is broken in Smack library.

I hope Spark developers know it.

No, I deleted old version of spark already.

The question remains: can spark work with google jabber server?

I have connected to talk.google.com several times with Spark v. 2.0.2. Be sure that your username does not include the domain portion of your username, the server should be gmail.com, uncheck automatic discovery and set the connection server to talk.google.com and the port to 5223, then check the ‘‘Use OLD SSL port method’’ checkbox. After that you should be able to login fine. However, there does seem to be limited functionality. I cannot view contacts or add contacts, and there is a limited set of preferences available. So yeah, you can connect, but it might do you any good.

The problem is that Spark has an error because google talk does not return a list of available services. This has been fixed in the upcoming 2.0.3 release.

Cheers,

Derek

Thanks, hope you’'ll fix it in next release.

It’'s fixed in the upcoming release.
