Spark 2.0 restart looping after upgrading on Windows XP Pro

Hi

I just upgraded my Spark client v1.1.4 to the latest v 2.0 on a Window XP client.

After it downloaded the update it asked me if I wanted to restart so it could install the update - I said yes. It uninstalled v1.1.4 and installed version 2.

Spark then restarted and now it is version 2.0 - looks good! But…

about 10 seconds later, it asks me “You need to shut down the client to install latest version. Would you like to do that now?”

I thought - ok maybe there is another update - so I said yes.

It removes version 2.0 and reinstalls again.

Help about still shows v2.0.0.4

about 10 seconds later it asks : “You need to shut down the client to install latest version. Would you like to do that now?”

I said yes. Same thing happens, uninstalls, installs 2 again, restarts… help about shows v2.0.0.4

about 10 seconds later “You need to shut down the client to install latest version. Would you like to do that now?”

It is in an endless loop.

Any ideas what to do now?

Thanks

I’‘m getting this problem too. Only I’'ve got it for 50+ users… gulp help?

All users Windows Professional XP.

Hi,

it may help to rename the file to Spark_2_0_0_4.exe, there was a similar problem in http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/thread.jspa?threadID=21080 but as I don’‘t use the Spark Manager I’'m not sure that this does help.

LG

I was able to stop the annonying pop-ups by doing the following

in C:\Program Files\Spark\bin

I deleted:

spark_2_0_0_online.exe

Looks like the installer leaves it behind after it updates the client.
