Spark 2.5.3 Beta 1 Released

Spark 2.5.3 Beta 1 is now available for download. A good number of improvements and bug fixes are in this release, as well as a nice new feature -

SSO.

The development of the new version is done and it is now time to ensure the product quality!

We ask for volunteers to test the beta release with us. A great place to start is to take a look at the change log and test out each of the areas

Change log can be found here.

Thank You,

Spark Team

Sweet!! Looking forward to testing this out. ( going to deploy it out to about 350 people right now…) I soon shall see how it goes!!

Thanks again!

Scott

SPARK-111 is great, though i have an improvement suggestion http://www.igniterealtime.org/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=26530&tstart=0

SPARK-662 nice addition today i was using Default pack most of the day, and them are ok, but… these emoticons could be a bit larger. That’'s one of the points why i prefer POPO Hey, i was asking about adding regexp “: D” to POPO pack, but maybe you cant modify it? I mean, maybe there is a restriction or like.

SPARK-727 images are a bit out of date

and i have noticed one undocumented change:

Just tested how 2.5.3b1 now switches my own status to “On the phone” when I am on the phone. Its nice, with one small quirk

I am noticing that my presence is always set to Available after a call completes, even if it was set to something else before. For example, if I have my presence set to Do Not Disturb but take a quick call, immediately after my presence is set to Available.

Also, I have had a few users comment that they can’'t start their Spark client. After investigating, it looks like trying to start Spark when it is already loaded does not bring the program up (most programs will come to the front if you try to start them again). This has been happening since atleast 2.5.2 and now also 2.5.3b1.

EDIT: Looks like clicking the icon does bring up Spark when its minimized to the taskbar (WinXP). If its closed and only in the tray though, trying to start Spark will not bring up the already running Spark.

That’'s great news!!

It’'s working fine with me and I am waiting for the final version to change all my clients from pandion to spark.

I have noticed that there is no more autologin option with SSO, is there any way to have that option when using SSO.

See My post at: http://www.igniterealtime.org/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=26561&tstart=0

that is what worked for me! Editing the spark.properties after enabling sso, setting “autoLoginEnabled=” to true is what worked for me…

Hope that helps

Scott
