Spark and proxy servers

Hi,

Our network only allows web traffic via a proxy server. Obviously, spark doesn’'t currently support this feature for plugin detection so I was wondering is there a way of manually locating and installing available plugings ?

cheers

Steve

Pretty sure it does, if you go to advanced before you sign in you can set it up. You’'ll need to have the proxy and firewall setup to allow the ports.

Is this true even if my Wildfire server is internal (no proxy needed) ?- I only need proxy access for external http.

Hi Steve,

you could install it as described here: http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/message.jspa?messageID=112792

Installing Translator if Spark has no direct internet connection.

  1. Close Spark.

  2. Download http://www.jivesoftware.org/updater/sparkplugs/translator.jar and save it as %programfiles%\Spark\plugins\translator.jar

  3. Start Spark

Hi Steve could you please tell me the all procedure to setup the openfire server to act as a proxy server for remote clients(spark).

Please.
