We are deploying Spark with OpenFire and are having ongoing problems with the Spark clients disconnecting from the OpenFire server. We have public IM gateways to AOL, Yahoo and MSN enabled and those stay connected, but the local users who are also connecting to OpenFire continually drop those connections. What setting needs to be changed to keep the clients continually connected to the server, regardless of whether they go idle for extended periods of time? Thanks for any help. I’ve searched these forums and am just not finding anything.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if your spark disconnects from openfire your gateways will disconnect also. They are connected via your openfire connection. You coould try this setting to fix the issue though:
xmpp.client.idle equal to -1 on the System Properties
