I am having an issue with my spark where if I click on a specific user my spark will freeze and the only way I can exit spark is by closing it out in my task manager. This problem will also occur when that same particular user attempts to spark me. Any thoughts?
This is usually caused by a corrupted history file. You can read the instructions on this thread Re: Help: reading/restoring history chat log, freeze Spark when hover user name, etc…
You will have to delete or fix a history file with that contact. If you are still using Spark 2.6.3, i suggest to update to 2.7.2, so it won’t get corrupted again.
Hello, I have updates to version 2.7.2 however I cannot find a way to delete the history. Could you point me in the right direction?
If you don’t need any history, then you can delete it all (for all users) by going into Preferences > Chat and checking Disable chat history. It will ask if you want to delete all history. Then press Yes. Then uncheck that setting again. If you want to delete history for that particular contact, on Windows newer than XP go to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Spark\user\youruser@yourserver\transcripts and find two files with that contact:
user@server
user@server_current
and delete them both.
I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. Thank you for your help.
