Spark passthrough?

is there a way to configure openfire svr or spark for passthrough autentication (as opposed to the “remember password” box)

I searched the forums and came up with a thread from 2006 that stated it was on a list of projects

Am i just blind and not seeing the option?

Not sure if i understand you right, but maybe you are talking about this SPARK-920? There is no such option, at least i’m not aware about it.

I’m looking to use passthrough authentication which will automatically populate the users credentials according to their AD information so that they can just click on the Spark client and not have to re-enter their password. The save password option won’t work because our domain passwords are on an expiration schedule

Oh, this was my first guess, but mentioning of Save password box drove me away. This is called SSO (Single Sign On) i believe. I dont use this and havent ever tried to setup, but i’ve heard this can be very cumbersome. I think you will have to use at least 2.6.0 Beta 2 or maybe even newest SVN versions to get working SSO support in Spark (SVN versions: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1822)

Try searching forums for SSO, Single sign on and slushpupie posts. I have found this one http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1362

And it says you can use 2.5.8 version, so maybe newest version is not required after all.
