Spark Web 1.0.0 Beta 4 Has Been Released

SparkWeb 1.0.0 Beta 4 has been released. SparkWeb is a commercial extension to Openfire that adds rich web-based instant messaging. During the beta process it’'s available as a separate Openfire plugin (although a valid Openfire Enterprise license is still required). Once the beta process is complete, SparkWeb will become an integrated feature of Enterprise.

Hi Alex,

As of this moment, that link still points to Beta 3, which will not operate on Openfire 3.3.0

Colby

My mistake, I posted the link to the Wildfire plugins page and not the Openfire one:

http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/plugins-beta.jsp

I’'d actually posted in the Spark Web 1.0.0 Beta 1 thread but realized after going back and looking that I should post here instead!

I downloaded the latest version of the plugin which no longer throws the error related to the license or the error where it didn’'t show up as a plugin. However, whenever I try and log into the web interface it just throws me back to the login screen…

I’'ve tried both through Firefox and IE 7

Thoughts?

Thanks!

David

Wow, now I’'m really spamming your forums, my apologies.

I realized that I enabled “Client Connection Security” which is probably why the unsecured 8080 port wasn’'t working for me.

However, when I try with the secured 8483 port it moves to the spinning wheel screen for a LOOOOONG time say greater then 4 minutes before allowing me to log into the system. (This is through Firefox 2.0.0.3)

Through IE 7 it spins and spins before kicking me back to the login screen without an error.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome,

David

Ok seriously this is my last thread for the time being!

Changing the “Client Connection Security” setting has no affect on being able to login to the normal 8080 weblogin. Whether it is enabled or disabled it just kicks me back to the login screen without error.

I timed the login for the secure http site and this time it took 2 minutes to log me in. (I’‘m the only user on the server at the moment so I know it isn’'t load.) Nothing shows up in the error logs.

Thanks again for taking the time to read all of this!

Hi David,

I am able to login using http://:8080/sparkweb… however I did experience the same issue as you mention when trying to use https with port 8483…

Colby

For some reason while using SparkWeb over HTTPS binding port it takes unreasonably long time (ie minutes) to login to spark.

This problem does not occur over HTTP bind port.

Any idea how to fix this?

I have created an issue for this:

JM-1045

Thanks,

Alex
