Stream Compression

I noticed that support for JEP-0138 was added into Wildfire for stream compression, but when I look at the write up for JEP-0138 it says that it is to be used outside the context of TLS because TLS already has the ability to compress traffic.

So I guess I just wanted to confirm, when you connect to Wildfire via TLS does it compress the stream? I’'m using Smack to connect to Wildfire.

TimC,

We actually haven’‘t tested to see if Smack is using compression when doing a TLS connection – that’‘s something we have on the to-do list. Also, we haven’'t added JEP-138 stream compression support to Smack yet (also on the to-do list).

Matt
