Trillian Pro 3.1 cannot connect to Jive_Messenger 2.2.2

Hello everyone,

I’‘m back again with Jive weirdness, but I don’‘t think it’‘s Jive, I think it’‘s Trillian, but I wanted to get input before going to the Trillian site. Below is an error message I get when trying to connect to my JM 2.2.2 server with using AD LDAP auth and SSL encryption. There is also a link that will give you a screenshot of the trillian error. This only occurs when I’‘m try doing the “Legacy SSL” option. If I plain text auth, it works. This problem only occurs with Trillian Pro ver 3.1. If I use Gaim, which I prefer to use, it works fine with the “Force Old SSL” option. Any ideas? By the way, I’'m only addressing this issue because my supervisor (CTO of our company) insists on using Trillian Pro.

Thanks,

Mark

I’'ve had the same problem with Trillian when trying to connect using SSL. Try connecting in Normal Mode (without SSL) and see if that works.

It does work if I authenticate via plain text. I think I stated that in my original post, but I’‘m not sure. Nonetheless, anyone have any idea’'s why this does not work?

Go in and deselect your Jabber plugin. Remove your Jabber connection under your identity. (It’'s possible this will work without deleting the connection under your identity.) Shutdown Trillian. Go to

C:\Program Files\Trillian\Plugins\Jabber\

and delete jabber.dll. Then download this file:

http://obscurity.ceruleanstudios.com/~rcb/jabber-v3.1.0.122.exe

Run the install. Fire Trillian backup. Go to Plugins and reenable the jabber, then rebuild your connection. Then your SSL should work fine. This is not a Jive Messenger problem, but a Trillian problem. You can view the article at here:

If you follow the link to download the .exe file on the forum page above, it takes you to another forum page and you have to scroll about half way down the page for you to find the link to the .exe file I gave you above.

Hope this helps.

I’'m really hoping that Trillian gets the next release out the door soon!

do you know how to search for external components in Trillian, such as transports?
