Trying to use Openfire with phpBB 3 RC8

Hi there,

the forum software phpBB 3 RC8 offers the abillity to ad your jid into your user-profile so that other usercan send jabber-messages to your account through the forum software. so i am running a forum with the latest phpBB 3 RC8 and try to use this feature, but it does not work.

All i got is this error message:

Registration was not succesfull

SEND: <?xml version=‘1.0’ encoding=‘UTF-8’ ?>

SEND:

<stream:stream to=‘jabber-server.de’ xmlns=‘jabber:client’

xmlns:stream=‘http://etherx.jabber.org/streams’ version=‘1.0’>

Timeout, no response from server.

Error: No feature information from server available.

Within the forum admin you can enter specific parameters e.g. the server adress, port number (i use 5222), and username and password from a registered user (i registered one for this)

Does anybody know how to fix this? Is there anything to change within openfire if external components whant to access/communicate with the server? forum and openfire installation running under the same server (ip)

thanks in advance!

If i enter no specific port to use in the forum admin i get this message:

SEND: <?xml version=‘1.0’ encoding=‘UTF-8’ ?>

SEND:

<stream:stream to=‘jabber-server.de’ xmlns=‘jabber:client’

Same issue here…It would be awesome to have this working though.

This appears to affect phpBB 3.0.1:

Hey, thanks for the link! Just edit the few lines and it is working like a charm BTW: It affects all outdated RCs and 3.0.1.
