Ubuntu will soon remove Oracle JRE from user's systems

Just in case you didn’t take my post here too seriously on moving to OpenJDK for future releases, I have been reading the last few days that Canonical is going to be removing not only the Sun/Oracle JRE from all of their official Ubuntu repositories, but also from people’s systems too. This affects 11.04 and earlier considering that sun-java6 isn’t available for 11.10 and above:

Removing? So if i had installed Oracle java via Synaptic, manually, they will unisntall it automatically and silently? Ubuntu starts to look like MS…

I don’t get it - at least the browser plugin is something useless and should be disabled. There are only a few sites which require a java plugin to work properly and it has too much security issues.
