Ok, guys I realize that there are numerous posts about this issue, and I think I’ve read most of them. However, after stopping the openfire server and editing the openfire.xml file such that the setup option is false, I am able to run through the setup again, but no matter what I put in for the admin credentials, the setup accepts the credentials, but when I attempt to login to the console, it tells me the login failed. I have done the setup numerous times and even used dkpg to uninstall/re-install but have yet to be able to access the admin console. I don’t see anything of interest in the /var/log/openfire/warn.log or info.log.
What do you put into login field? Should be:
admin
