Unable to save ldap.groupSearchFilter due to 1000 character max limit

Hello

We are trying to add an LDAP group to the ldap.groupSearchFilter field, but the property will not update. The error message we are receiving is:

Error – creating the property failed, see below.

**1000 character max. **

The strange thing is that we have over a 1000 characters in this field. We can also replace a group with another with more characters, but we can’t add anymore groups. So I’m not sure what the system is counting as characters.

Does anyone know if this limit can be increased or if there is a work around?

what does your current filter look like? you may be able to consolidate using wildcards. I have all my groups start with _IM so my fiter is just a few characters long.

Thanks for responding. There maybe some scope for using wildcards, but not too much. Do you know what the limit actually is? We are well over 1000 characters.

Were you able to find a work-around for this? I am in a similar situation where we have multiple groups (& thus a string of text well in excess of 1000 characters).
