Upgrade steps

I’'m the Gentoo person in charge of bringing wildfire to portage (we already have jive-messenger but want to fix some issues and update to wildfire).

My main questions relate to the upgrade. If i have a wildfire server running what do i have to do in order to upgrade my server? What directorys should i save? I already found (the hard way ) that :

/opt/wildfire/resources/security (location of server certificates)

/opt/wildfire/conf (configuration file)

files in these two locations cant be overwritten. How about others? If we use the internal DB what do we have to save?

Oi Gustavo,

You may want to read the url=http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/entry.jspa?externalID=481&categoryID=2 2Steps for upgrading Jive Messenger to Wildfire[/url] document that explains how to do the update process. Let us know if you need any help.

I still need info on how to upgrade from wildfire to a newer version of wildfire, as it is not just unpacking the newer package on top of the old one.

as it is not just unpacking the newer package on top of the old one.

well, for me it does

my upgrade process is just overwriting everything except /conf /logs /embedded-db

dont use any certificates so dont know about that.
