Is there a pugin like the URL presence plugin, that could initiate a connection between a web user and a specific Support Person? Looking to deploy Spark clients and wildfire to my users. After seeing the presence plugin, thought there might be a way for users visitng a Tech support webpage could see the availabilty of a technician and click a link to initiate an IM session with the Tech.
Hi Bill,
currently there’‘s no option to do this. It was discussed in http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/thread.jspa?messageID=111221 and initially scheduled for Spark 1.1.0, currently it’'s scheduled for 1.2.0. You may want to vote for SPARK-177 so the developers see that some community members need this feature.
< a href =“xmpp:tech@jabber.company” > Tech < /a > should already launch another instance of Spark without creating a connection, so that’'s not what you want.
LG
Thanks it2000
“< a href =“xmpp:tech@jabber.company” > Tech < /a > should already launch another instance of Spark”
This starts a new SPARK instance. But the user has to log in again, and a CHAT session is not initiated with the user listed in the URL.
Hey bill,
You may want to take a look at url=http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/liveassistant/Live Assistant. Live Assistant is a commercial extension both to Wildfire and Spark that I think covers what you are looking for. Live Assistant is an implementation of the url=http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0142.htmlJEP-142: Workgroups XMPP extension.
